ORBS – SIGNPOSTS ON OUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

Since the advent of digital cameras, mysterious spheres of light, now often referred to as Orbs, have been appearing in photographs.  Whilst the majority dismiss the phenomenon as reflections of the flash against dust, pollen or water droplets, or even a malfunction of their camera, there is a growing belief that something altogether more meaningful is going on …

In 2003, armed with my new digital camera, I set off for Jordan and Egypt to arrange future Harmony Journeys tours.  Putting together my promotional literature, I was irritated to find that several pictures were unusable due to these anomalies of light.  A beautiful picture of the Rose Red City of Petra was ‘tainted’ by a massive explosion of light and the lovely photo of my family mounting camels for a ride to the ‘Solar Cross’ - an intersection of ley-lines behind the Pyramids - was awash with so many blobs of white light it resembled a heavy snowstorm - in Egypt - mid August.  No way could I use that - totally bad for business!!!  I cursed my investment in new technology big time!

A year later, escorting a Harmony Journey back to Giza, I photographed my happy participants as they mounted their camels for the trip to the Solar Cross.  Excitedly, we reviewed the shots back in the hotel room with a connection to a large screen TV monitor. “Oh no,” I exclaimed, “the snow is back”.  However, one of our group, David Johnson, had an alternative explanation and outlined a recent theory that these ‘Orbs’ were in fact manifestations from other dimensions!  He added that apparently, they were commonly seen in sacred sites and associated with joyful occasions and celebrations and often seemed to congregate around spiritually awake people at sacred rituals or religious ceremonies and also around happy-go-lucky children – well anyone having a good time really.  David even told me that a friend of his had enlarged on of these Orbs and discovered inside a famous mystical symbol called the ‘Flower of Life’, an ancient emblem very familiar to me.  I was awestruck, could it be that these were really messages from beyond, proof of our existing in the midst of a multi-dimensional reality as I had been teaching for years.  Fascinated, I began my quest into educating myself about the Orb Phenomenon.  Dozens of ‘Orb’ photographs later, I was invited to speak at the Prophet’s Conference on Orbs in Palm Springs, California.  The Conference is repeated in Glastonbury 11^th – 13^th July 2008.

It seems it was British authors, Katie Hall & John Pickering’s, ‘Beyond Photography’ (published by O Books), that was the original ground breaking book on the subject of Orbs. Katie & John, who are professional photographers, were originally sceptical of New Age ideas, but after thousands of their photographs showed the same amazing objects they started to reach some extraordinary conclusions. Theirs was the first book to recognise personal encounters with Orbs as a worldwide phenomenon and give a clear overview of paranormal light phenomenon.  John says “Orbs are another aspect of Reality interfacing with our own: we are literally witnessing the advent of another Consciousness which is specifically relating individually to each person who experiences it.  There is a world wide commonality to the phenomenon of Orbs which totally undermines any obvious mundane causes such as dust or camera faults... but the exciting thing for us was the way in which our Orbs began to unfold into other more exotic forms of visual expression…because of that we had to re-classify the phenomenon…”

John and Katie devised the following descriptive classifications, demonstrating that the manifestations of ‘light’ they have experienced are tailored to suit the expectations of the witnesses present; they are clearly meant as direct communications.

1: Orbs: Circles or disk-like images which appear on photos but which are generally invisible to the naked eye.

2: Luminosities: Luminous spheres, quite often visible by day or night. They are often picked up by camcorders, using night-vision, as fast moving objects.

3: Light-Forms: These include: winged shapes, columns of moving light and luminescent energies in a variety of dynamic forms.

4: Light Beings: Anthropomorphic apparitions of various kinds of entities.

In The Orb Project (Beyond Words/Simon & Schuster), two leading experts in the study of the Orb phenomenon, Dr Miceál Ledwith (featured in various Orb videos) and Dr Klaus Heinemann, combine their knowledge and expertise and seemingly reach the same conclusions - that Orbs are intelligent messengers from the beyond.

Miceál, a renowned Theologist, believes that digital cameras register Orbs because they capture wavelengths beyond the visible light spectrum; particularly in the higher frequency infrared.  Orbs, it seems, may be around us all the time, but are not usually visible to the naked eye, as they generally exist in the extreme frequencies, both above (in infrared) and below (in ultraviolet and X-Ray) our usual range of vision.  They may have to adjust their frequency even to be photographed at all and they appear to have the intelligence to do just this as numerous Orb enthusiasts can testify that they get more Orbs in their photographs when they invite them along! 

Freddy Silva, a well-known Crop Circle photographer, has experienced photo shoots where consecutive images of the same sites have numerous Orbs or none at all, depending on whether he intended them for his ‘Orb portfolio’ or his ‘sceptic friends’ and invited the Orbs to manifest or disappear accordingly.

Rosemary Hanson, creator of the beautiful Limelight range of 52 plant and flower essences, was inspired recently to add a new blend, designed to encourage Orbs to manifest in the vicinity.  The Red Doorway – to assist Connection with Orbs and featuring aspects of Mars, Malkuth (referenced in the Kabala) and tree elementals - is the latest addition to the collection of Ascension Essences.

Miceál also purports that Orbs are not in fact spheres, but vortices like wormholes.  They appear as spheres because we are always looking at them face-on.  This is because they are intelligent energy masses and have made a conscious effort to be seen and are interested in us.  In situations where they appear to have tails, this is because they are being viewed side-on or they are in ‘zooming’ manifestation whereby they are moving extremely rapidly.  Miceál claims that his rough calculations indicate that they are moving at between 1000 and 2000 mph! 

Sometimes, it also possible to identify a specific Orb by studying its unique pattern inside, nicknamed the Orb Fingerprint.  This fuels speculation that, in some cases at least, an Orb might represent some relationship with the Orb witness, perhaps a deceased loved one or spirit guide.  There are certainly instances of people who are convinced that a specific Orb, regularly captured in their vicinity, is the spirit of someone they knew – a comforting thought.

However, to capture an Orb Fingerprint you do need the right camera, as a low resolution image would pixellate when enlarged sufficiently to determine any identifiable features.  The right camera is not necessarily the most expensive camera, as good cameras often boast strong infrared filters, which would filter out our beloved Orbs!  Too much infrared can make the subjects look washed-out and ghostly.

To test the suitability of a camera Miceál suggests that you use a TV or Video remote and aim the infra-red beam at the camera lens.  An ideal camera for Orb photography will register a generous bloom of light and not just a pin-prick.

We only see a tiny slice of the electromagnetic spectrum.  A camera records everything in its field.  When humans look at something, we are also interpreting and selecting what to ‘see’ and 90% of what we look at is disregarded as unimportant for us to register; for most of us this includes Orbs. 

Apparently anyone can learn to see Orbs.  For those prepared to dedicate an hour a day for a period of time (for Miceál this was two years) then your brain would start to realise that Orbs are important to you and begin to see them with the naked eye.  In a short time you would notice them in many beautiful colours, including blue, green, rose and gold, as you begin to register a more complete spectrum including infrared, ultraviolet and even the x-ray band. 

According to Miceál, Orbs are what we might be without our physical body i.e. the soul.  Some Orbs may have been incarnate as humans.  They may also represent a host of other intelligences, from nature spirits to angels, including beings of pure energy, which have never incarnated.

Having personally captured Orbs in sacred sites the world over, often associated with ceremonies and spiritually minded individuals, as well as around my children at happy events, I am inclined to agree that they are attracted to highly emotional occasions.  Orbs are recurrently evident hovering around my Reyad Sekh Em (an ultra high vibration Egyptian energy healing system) students immediately following their ‘attunements’ to enhance the energy in the aura.  This could be due to the frequencies emanated when we reach a high vibrational meditative state, as mood undoubtedly affects frequency, making it easier for the Orbs to sit comfortably in our auric field. 

However, I have also noted circumstances where they manifest as we are on our way to a ceremony and are in anticipation of having a good time.  Do the Orbs know this?  I have speculated that they might be Higher Vibrational Beings somehow overseeing or just witnessing the sacred ceremonies, or they might even be a representation of our own Higher Selves manifesting for the occasion.  This leads me to the conclusion that they are signposts on our spiritual journey.  I suggest you try asking them to appear in your digital photographs, analyse your results and then decide for yourself.  Enjoy …
