Sarah is very excited and honoured to be hosting the following visit...... SUNDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2008 10.00-16.00 AT BRECON THEATRE in the STUDIO NEPALESE SHAMANISM WITH BHOLA BANSTOLA This is a unique opportunity to study with, and receive healing sessions from, an indigenous Nepalese Shaman who is a renowned international healer and teacher. Bhola Banstola brings the art and wisdom of his ancestral Himalayan shamanic tradition to share with us during this visit

The Nepalese tradition is animistic and embraces the spiritual life in all natural phenomena. The workshop will be devoted to the healing of oneself, in its own right and as a foundation for doing healing work for others. An introduction of traditional Nepalese shamanic healing systems and practices will be followed by a technique for inducing the shamanic trance. Shamanic journeys will be followed by sharing, group shamanic dance and discussions on disease and healing levels. The group will conduct a healing ceremony in circle transferring the spiritual, emotional and physical obstacles into a shamanic mandala. There will be seven levels of cleansing, transferring and overcoming unbeneficial energies and two levels of thanksgiving to the spiritual guides and ancestral spirits. We will sing, blessing every living and non-living being of this and other universes. We will then drum, dance, and sing thanksgiving songs as a group. You will need a working knowledge of shamanic journeying - if you need to learn there's a workshop with Sarah on August 30th - see Workshops page for more details		Bhola was born in 1966 in the Bhojpur district of east Nepal. He was called by the spirits at a very young age to become a shaman and was initiated by his grandfather, who was the shaman of the village. Educated in Nepal and India, Bhola holds a Masters Degree in Cultural Anthropology from Delhi University. He is also a graduate in Naturopathy from the Indian board of Alternative Medicines in Calcutta. After receiving his degree he practiced as a naturopath and herbalist in Kathmandu Valley for 6 years. He is a respected teacher and healer , and guides trips into Nepal, Tibet, India, and Bhutan. All his work benefits Deepshikha High School in Kathmandu.
